Sports Mole previews Sunday's Scottish Premiership clash between St Johnstone and Livingston, including predictions, team news and possible lineups.
Sports Mole

This Sunday marks the final game of the season for the Scottish Premiership and St Johnstone will host Livingston.

Both teams have secured safety in the top flight heading into this match, but they will be aiming to wrap up their campaigns in style if possible.

Match preview

St Johnstone head into Sunday's match on the back of two games without a loss which is the type of form that the team needed to secure their safety.

That fighting spirit was clear in their most recent match when Ryan McGowan scored in the 95th minute to secure a 3-3 result against Ross County.

Stevie May had already scored a brace in the midweek encounter, and the fact that the team showcased such attacking freedom is something that will have brought confidence into the group.

The focus for the team will already be on next season, with interim manager Steven MacLean looking to get the group in shape for a stronger campaign next time around.

St Johnstone are unable to climb any further up the table but they could slip one place down which they will be aiming to avoid if possible.

The visitors do have the possibility of moving up one place as well depending on the result that Motherwell secure at the weekend.

Livingston are also undefeated in their previous two matches, putting together some impressive performances that have helped the team stay in the top flight.

Andrew Shinnie scored late in midweek to get a point against Motherwell, with the 1-1 result being a great one considering they played the entire second half with only 10 men.

Shamal George was sent for an early shower in that match, putting pressure on his own team, but the fact they were able to come through showcased their quality.

Livingston have been weaker away from home this season though which is something the team will be wary of heading into this one.

Team News

Remi Matthews is almost guaranteed to start in goal for St Johnstone this weekend considering it is his final game for the club, giving him the chance to depart in front of the home fans.

Meanwhile, at the other end of the field, May should retain his place up front after scoring a brace in St Johnstone's last outing and Chris Kane will be hoping to feature in some part after returning to the bench as an unused substitute in midweek.

There will be at least one change for the visitors this weekend as George will be suspended for this which will open the door for Jack Hamilton to start.

Livingston do boast a fit squad for this game apart from that, though, providing plenty of options heading into this.

St Johnstone possible starting lineup:
Matthews; Brown, Gordon, Considine, Montgomery; McGowan, Wright, MacPherson, Ballantyne, Carey; May

Livingston possible starting lineup:
Hamilton; Devlin, De Luas, Boyes, Montano; Kelly, Shinnie; Penrice, Kelly, Nouble; Anderson

We say: St Johnstone 1-1 Livingston

There is not much to separate these two teams heading into this match, and with nothing on the line for them it could lead to a careful draw.
