Matchday 11 of the 2022-23 Eredivisie season sees in-form Feyenoord entertain the challenge of Fortuna Sittard at De Kuip on Saturday.

The home side are seeking a third straight league win, while their visitors aim to get back to winning ways following a first defeat in six matches last time out.

Feyenoord claimed an impressive 3-1 victory over AZ Alkmaar when the two heavyweights went head-to-head at the AFAS Stadion on Sunday afternoon.

Arne Slot's men conceded the opening goal of the game to Jens Odgaard before hitting back through Orkun Kokcu, Sebastian Szymanski and Danilo.

Consequently, De Stadionclub have leapfrogged the aforementioned AZ into third place in the Eredivisie table, two points shy of league leaders Ajax.

Their next assignment sees them face off against an opposing outfit who have been beaten in each of the most recent six clashes between the teams since 2020.

Having recorded five clean sheets in their last six home matches and four wins in that time, Saturday's hosts will back themselves to emerge victorious on their own patch once again.

Fortuna Sittard saw their KNVB-Beker campaign come to a premature end courtesy of a 3-2 defeat against NEC Nijmegen at the Goffertstadion on Wednesday.

Julio Velazquez's men led through Cole Bassett before a Ximo Navarro own goal and Souffian El Karouani's strike turned the game on its head, only for Rodrigo Guth to restore parity which would eventually be broken by Pedro Marques's winner.

Just before that, the Fortunezen saw their three-game winning run come to an end in a 0-0 draw against RKC Waalwijk, but they have climbed up to 10th in the standings.

Currently with the joint second-worst attacking record away from home this term, Saturday's visitors will need to up the ante at the top end of the pitch to stand any chance of breaching the division's meanest defence on home turf so far.

Oussama Idrissi has missed each of Feyenoord's most recent three games with a muscle problem, which is set to keep the Moroccan out of Saturday's clash as well.

With three goals in his last four matches across all competitions, 21-year-old Orkun Kokcu will be aiming to deliver the goods for the home side once again.

Fortuna's Deroy Duarte continues his spell on the sidelines with a torn muscle and the midfielder is not expected to play any part in this one.

Dimitrios Siovas was fit enough to be named on the bench in his side's draw with Waalwijk, but it remains to be seen if the Greece international will feature this weekend.
