Semi-professional outfit Oxford City will look to continue their FA Cup journey this Saturday when they make the trip to face Fleetwood Town.
The League One club are just entering the competition this weekend, and they are undefeated in their previous three matches in all competitions.
Match preview
Fleetwood Town were in action against Oxford United this past weekend, sharing the points after a 1-1 draw, despite the fact that Carlos Mendes Gomes scored in the second minute of the game.
That marked the third game in a row that Scott Brown's men have gone without a defeat, bringing them into this FA Cup weekend with plenty of momentum behind them.
The Cod Army have managed to progress to the next round in all of their previous nine FA Cup games against non-league teams, a run they will want to continue on Saturday.
However, last season Fleetwood were knocked out by Burton Albion at this stage of the competition, with the club now looking to make an improvement on their previous effort.
The FA Cup distraction could be welcome by the Cod Army considering they are 20th in the League One table at the moment, being involved in an early relegation fight.
The same cannot be said for the visitors as Oxford City are eighth in the National League South table, with the club pushing up to be part of the promotion campaign this season.
The visitors have only reached the second round of the competition four times throughout its history, which showcases what a landmark victory this could be for the club.
Oxford City picked up a 2-0 win in their most recent outing when facing Hungerford Town with Josh Parker and Charlie Rowan getting on the scoresheet.
Ross Jenkins guided his team to a 4-1 victory in the previous round of this competition, with Parker scoring a brace while Reece Fleet and Klaidi Lolos also found the back of the net.
Oxford City have showcased strong attacking qualities in the FA Cup so far this season, and while this is a much stronger test than they have had before, the team will believe they can cause problems in this match.
Team News
Mendes Gomes has been a consistent goalscoring threat for Fleetwood this season, and that is likely going to see him retain his place in the team on Saturday.
At the other end of the field Jakub Stolarczyk could be given an opportunity to start, in what might be one of several changes that Brown makes this weekend.
Jayden Carbon recently scored his first goal for the visitors, and he is someone that will be looking to capitalise on that momentum this weekend.
Parker is another danger man that has been scoring plenty of goals for Oxford City, and he will retain his place in the team.
Fleetwood Town possible starting lineup:
Stolarczyk; Rooney, Baker, Holgate, Earl, Andrew; Johnston, Vela, Warrington, Hayes, Mendes Gomes
Oxford City possible starting lineup:
Dudzinski, Miccio, Burley, Rowan, Iaciofano; Coyle, Parker, Harrison, Williams-Bushell; Carroll, Carbon
We say: Fleetwood Town 2-0 Oxford City
Oxford City will fancy their chances of causing an upset against a side three divisions above them, but Fleetwood will be regarded as firm favourites for this contest in front of their own fans and they should have few problems in securing a routine victory.
