Estadio Cidade de Barcelos will see Primeira Liga action for the final time this year as Gil Vicente lock horns with Boavista on Saturday evening.
Both teams come into this match looking to stop their respective winless streaks in the league and end the year on a high.
Match preview
Gil Vicente lost 3-0 against Arouca at Estadio Municipal de Arouca last time out, extending their winless streak to seven matches.
The Roosters have managed only three wins with three draws and eight losses in their 14 matches so far, which leaves them with 12 points and in the relegation zone, just two points above Chaves, who are bottom of the league.
Gil Vicente, who secured a top-five finish in 2021-22, followed up with a 13th-place finish last season, have had to battle against the drop in what has been an underwhelming campaign so far, one without a single point on the road so far.
However, all 12 of Gil Vicente's points this season have been earned at Estadio Cidade de Barcelos, which leaves them with some confidence heading into Saturday's match.
Vitor Campelos will hope his side extend their current five-game unbeaten streak on home turf as they welcome an opponent they have beaten in successive home matches.
Meanwhile, Boavista were able to salvage a 1-1 draw against Vitoria de Guimaraes at Estadio do Bessa Seculo XXI last time out through a 93rd-minute Tiago Morais spot kick.
The Panthers, who are currently without a permanent manager, are now 11th in the Primeira Liga table with 16 points, and 13 of their total points came from the first five games of the season.
What began as a promising Primeira Liga season has quickly turned sour for Boavista, who are in desperate need of a positive result after seeing their winless streak extend to nine matches against Vitoria.
Currently on a four-game winless streak on the road, the Panthers will hope to pick up a first away win at Gil Vicente since 2021.
Team News
Gil Vicente have two injury absentees heading into this match in the form of goalkeeper Stanislav Kritsyuk and forward Depu, though both players have been out of action for a while now.
Sousa is likely to stick with the same starting 11 from the defeat against Arouca, with Ali Alipour leading the line, while Maxime Dominguez will occupy the number 10 role between Murilo de Souza and Felix Correia on the flanks.
The visitors are still without goalkeeper Cesar and left-back Augusto Dabo, both through injury for this match.
Joao Goncalves will continue in goal for Boavista, with Rodrigo Abascal and Chidozie Awaziem expected to make up the central defensive duo in front of him.
Gil Vicente possible starting lineup:
Andrew; Carlos, Pereira, Fernandes, Buta; Tiba, Neto, Souza, Dominguez, Correia; Alipour
Boavista possible starting lineup:
Goncalves; Agra, Abascal, Awaziem, Onyemaechi; Camara, Perez; Makouta, Malheiro, Lourenco; Bozenik
We say: Gil Vicente 1-1 Boavista
This match promises to be a closely-fought affair, with both sides desperate for the three points. Gil Vicente's home advantage might be a factor that tilts this match in their favour but Boavista have also got a new man in charge, which could count for them.
