Sports Mole previews Saturday's Championship clash between Millwall and Norwich City, including predictions, team news and possible lineups.
Sports Mole

Millwall and Norwich City square off in the Championship on Saturday afternoon with just two points separating the clubs in the standings.

The two teams, who are fifth and seventh place respectively, have also recently put together four-match undefeated streaks in the second tier.

Match preview

Over a four-match period, Millwall have arguably endured the most difficult set of fixtures with games versus Sheffield United, Burnley, Stoke City and Luton Town.

Nevertheless, Gary Rowett's side have delivered eight points from a possible 12, ensuring that the Lions head into the weekend sitting in the top six.

Rowett will feel that it should have been a better return, however, with Millwall letting slip a two-goal advantage against Luton Town in midweek.

Although a 2-2 draw away at a playoff rival cannot be described as disastrous, the London outfit were prevented from moving into fourth position.

Millwall now return to their home ground where they have not suffered a league defeat since the middle of September.

Norwich will extend Millwall's tough run of matches with the Canaries having put together a four-game undefeated streak of their own.

Ten points have been collected from a possible 12, although it should be noted that each of their three wins during that time came at Carrow Road.

The Canaries travel to the capital having failed to win or score in their last two away encounters versus Bristol City and Wigan Athletic.

However, since David Wagner was named as the new Norwich boss during the first week of the year, the East Anglian outfit have put together the third-best points haul in the division.

Team News

While Rowett may prefer not to make changes to his in-form Millwall XI, fresh legs could be required after an intense schedule.

George Saville was rested due in midweek due to fatigue but should return here, potentially in place of Jamie Shackleton, while George Evans could get the nod over Ryan Leonard.

Having recovered from illness, Oliver Burke is an alternative if Rowett wants to introduce a different player to his attack.

Marquinhos will hope to retain his place in the Norwich starting lineup after scoring on his debut versus Cardiff City.

However, Wagner has options, with Teemu Pukki fit again after injury and Josh Sargent close to returning to action after a two-match absence.

Millwall possible starting lineup:
Long; McNamara, Cresswell, Cooper, Wallace; Evans, Saville; Honeyman, Flemming, Voglsammer; Bradshaw

Norwich City possible starting lineup:
Gunn; Aarons, Hanley, Gibson, Sorensen; McLean, Sara; Marquinhos, Nunez, Hernandez; Idah

We say: Millwall 1-1 Norwich City

This has all the makings of a highly-competitive game and Norwich will be confident of becoming just the third team to defeat Millwall at The Den this season. However, we feel that a share of the spoils is most likely, one which would still suit the visitors more so than their hosts.
