The first FA Cup final to ever take place outside of England occurred 23 years ago today, and it proved to be one of the most memorable editions of the showpiece event too.
Cardiff's Millennium Stadium hosted the match while Wembley was being rebuilt, and the fixture was fit for the occasion as Arsene Wenger's Arsenal took on Gerard Houllier's Liverpool in the Welsh capital - the first time two managers from outside the British Isles had faced off in an FA Cup final too.
The Gunners controlled most of the game and looked to be heading to victory when they finally broke the deadlock through Freddie Ljungberg's strike after 72 minutes.
However, one particular individual would go on to steal the show with a brace inside the final seven minutes to take the trophy back to Merseyside in dramatic fashion, completing the second leg of a treble of trophies that season for Liverpool.
Remarkably it also remains the last time Arsenal lost in an FA Cup final, with the London outfit going on to win each of their seven appearances in the final since.
