Harry Redknapp rules out part-time option

Tottenham manager Harry Redknapp rules out the possibility of becoming joint England and Spurs manager.

Tottenham Hotspur manager Harry Redknapp has ruled out the possibility of taking the England job on a part-time basis while staying at White Hart Lane.

Spurs are currently battling for a Champions League spot, but there has been suggestions that Redknapp could take over for the European Championships.

Redknapp, however, has reiterated his intent to stay with Tottenham until the end of the season, and has ruled out the possibility of taking on both jobs at the same time.

"It's hard enough just managing Tottenham, let alone managing England. They're two difficult jobs. Your focus has to be on one job. I can't take my eye off the ball at Tottenham. It wouldn't be fair to the players or anyone at this club if I started letting my thoughts wander elsewhere.

"For anybody to try and do two jobs, I'd say that was very difficult. If you did the England job on the basis of taking over for the Euros, you're only walking in and it has been another person's team. And if it didn't go well you would get a load of aggro.

"Let's not kid ourselves, you know what is coming. It's aggravation. There has been a lot of great managers and when someone like Fabio Capello finds it tough, it's got to be hard going."

Stuart Pearce has been appointed as the interim England manager for the upcoming friendly against Holland.
