Sports Mole Editor Barney Corkhill and Football Editor Matt Law discuss the state of play in the European race ahead of the long-awaited Premier League restart.

The battle for European places promises to be one of the most intriguing storylines when the Premier League returns on Wednesday, with a host of clubs hoping to push for the top four.

Liverpool, Manchester City and Leicester City look to have a top-four spot wrapped up, although Man City's European ban and subsequent appeal leaves a question mark over which positions will be worth what.

As things stand Manchester United would benefit from their local rivals' ban courtesy of sitting in fifth place, three points behind Chelsea, but Sheffield United, Wolverhampton Wanderers, Tottenham Hotspur and Arsenal are all in the mix too.

Listen below as Sports Mole Editor Barney Corkhill and Football Editor Matt Law discuss the state of play in the European race ahead of the long-awaited 2019-20 restart.
